Student Showcase.
In addition to how I personally utilize technology within my classroom, I have included several student examples of student artifacts using technology below. These examples further reflect how I have applied the knowledge and skills gained in the MAET program to my classroom teaching practices.
As part of a vocabulary review, students used Google Doc in order to participate in various activities designed for them to have more experiences using their vocabulary terms.
After reading an excerpt from Darwin's Voyage of the Beagle, students pinned the location from the excerpt into a class Google Map and summarized Darwin's findings.
Students demonstrated their knowledge of the relative dating of rocks by constructing their own set of rock layers utilizing the components within the Google Drawing platform. Students were required to “draw” and label features within a rock formation. They also had to answer analysis questions on the document based off of their drawings.
Classes worked in groups to complete this activity. The Google Doc allowed the entire class to participate on this single document. Each group chose an image that represented types of potential energy and pasted it into their groups chart. Then, each group was assigned another chart and had to provide information based on the images they were given.
Students used Popplet to create a multimedia graphic organizer that compared convection currents, continental drift and seafloor spreading.
Students used Glogster to compare and present information on the human body systems.
Students used Prezi to create a presentation about Human Body Systems.
